Here is the new Game of Thrones Season 7: Official Trailer(courtesy of HBO, of course!) Thank you HBO for finally giving us a small fix!! I don't even know where to begin!! Watch the trailer and then I break it down after. It has a lot going on, so let's get started.
Video Courtesy of: HBO
In the very 1st clip we have Cersei speaking. We see her walking from behind, shoes clacking. She starts off about enemies to East, West, South, and North and on the screen we see the map at Dragonstone.

As she says "Enemies to the East" they show Grey Worm and the Unsullied.

"Enemies to the West" and they show a huge ship, which I can only assume is the Greyjoy's, but is it Euron, or Yara & Theon?

My first hope was that this was Jaime, sharpening Widows Wail, to drive through Cercei's heart, but if you notice the person appears to have two hands and this wouldn't be Jaime, unless he has someone sharpen his blade for him? He certainly is in the South though!! It also could be someone from Dorne, I suppose. Then, she says "Enemies to the North" and we see Arya on horseback.

My theory, based on just the first 25 seconds of footage alone, is that one of these 4 people will be taking Cersei out of the picture, for good. Cercei continues, spouting off about whatever stands in their way will be defeated, as we see the Lannister army and her and Jaime standing on a huge map of Westeros, most likely planning her next move.

Lastly, she says "We're the last Lannisters, the last ones that count", right as we see Tyrion, and a dragon flying, with a quickness, overhead.
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
I am wondering if they are giving us clues that he is not a Lannister, and the fact that they also showed a dragon flying over head may be the creators way of teasing us with him being one of the 3 dragon riders. Next, we see Daenarys as she says the bit about being born to rule the 7 Kingdoms, and she will, right as she is kneeling down, putting her hand on the sand on the shore of Dragonstone.
This was touching to see because she has been yearning for that pretty much all of her life. Then we see the unsullied rushing into what appears to be the Red Keep.
It quickly pans to Winterfell, and we see Jon as everyone is shouting, "The King of the North", most likely in some sort of cheer because they are going to go fight somewhere, and pretty much be BAMFs whether they go, North or South.
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
But then we hear, and unfortunately, see Little Finger trying to manipulate Sansa, as usual.
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
I hope the only difference is, she is not, as she said it, a "stupid, stupid girl" anymore. Then, we see a castle gate opening, and then Theon.

I am not positive on what castle gate this is, but I am guessing Winterfell, since we just saw Sansa and Little Finger there. It looks like Theon is in some type of explosion, most likely on a ship. Next we see Melisandra at Dragon Stone, which is interesting that she is also where Dany is, and she is overlooking a group of people moving along the path below.
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
I wonder if she will run into Kinvara there, or maybe she is the key to finding what happened to Varys and the voice in the flames? Anyhow, we get a glimpse of Wildlings running, most likely from Wights. Then Arya again, this time crouching down around a fire, then up close with her horse in the background.
Enter Nymeria here please 🐺🐺 Now we hear Davos. He sounds as if he is trying to explain the situation to someone, and trying to convince them that this threat with the White Walkers is real. My guess is Dany, or Tyrion, or both. Then we see Little Finger, creeping in the shadows, right as Davos says, "We must bound together, or we all die."
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
Hmm.. are they giving us a double warning here? Maybe Little Finger's end game isn't coming as quickly as we would like? Then we get a quick shot of the Dothraki in battle.

Truly all I have to say is............ "Holy Shitake Mushrooms!" Then we see a quick shot of a ship going up in flames, which I hope is not Yara and Theon, but most likely is the case from the earlier clip of Theon.
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
Then Davos says, "It doesn't matter who's skeleton sits on the iron throne", right as we see Dany and Tyrion, overlooking the very map of Westeros that Aegon the Conqueror had built hundreds of years before her, with much the same mission in mind.
Interesting choice of words here, right when we see them. I hope that is not a foreshadowing of one of these two not making it till the end. It then quickly shows The Mountain, wearing what can only be Cersei's Queen's Guard armor.
Then, we see people fleeing, but I cannot tell who they are or where they're at?
Any suggestions out there? Then, we get to see a quick shot of Jon and Little Finger down in the crypts and Jon attacks him.
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
I believe this is going to be because Sansa will tell Jon that Little Finger is plotting against him, but what if it is because he is talking about Lyanna and Rhaegar? We all know it was a sensitive subject for Ned, and Little Finger had a conversation with Sansa down in the very same crypt, in the very same spot, and she too got very defensive about the legendary story. Maybe that makes it a sensitive subject for Jon too. Anyhow, that sets off a chain reaction of clips. We see the Unsullied in battle.
We can see Lannister shields here. Then below, Arya looking underneath a bed, presumably her bed at Winterfell.
I'm not sure what she is looking for, maybe the boogey man? Maybe she hid something there before she left years ago. Next, we see an arm covered in greyscale, but it appears the greyscale is healing, or that there is some type of ointment or salve applied.
Looks like Jorah is still alive and kickin,' which is great news. We see the Dothraki in battle again.
Next, is Jon and Tormund dressed in Wildling gear running for their lives, we can most likely assume from the Knights King and his army.
Next, we see a flash of both Grey Worm & Missandei and Ellaria & Yara in somewhat compromising positions.
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
Basically, they're gettin', it on. It's good to see we have a little romance to look forward to. Then, we see Tyrion knock over the lion pawn on the table, which is pretty symbolic if you ask me.
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
If it didn't prove he was breaking away from the Lannisters when he shot Tywin on the crapper, this should. It also could be again, representing that Tyrion is not a Lannister and he is about to pulverize them. Next, we appear to be under water looking up, as 2 bodies fall into the water above.
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
I don't know if this could be Theon and maybe Euron falling into the water? Any guesses out there? Next, the screen fades to black, we hear the roar from a dragon, then in comes the Dothraki army with dragon in tow.
Photos Courtesy of: HBO
I've got to say, we haven't seen too much of the Dothraki in battle on a grand scale. Just based off the clips, they are remarkable, and I so look forward to seeing them in action this coming season. The horse stunts alone are outstanding.
The screen goes black and it concludes with Jon Snow saying, "The great war is here". I have been unsure about when the actual battle against the army of the dead was going to take place and thought there was a small chance that they were saving that for the 6 episodes in season 8. With him saying that, I am pretty convinced that Wall is coming down, Mr. Gorbachev! I have always thought that if it were to happen in season 7, it would definitely be at the end, in either episodes 6 or 7, or in episode 1 or 2 if season 8, so that theory still stands.
I will finish by pointing out we were missing some very key players here....
Did anyone notice the absence of Varys? We know he was on Dany's ship last time we saw him. Why wasn't he with her and Tyrion in the map room? You would think he would be there assisting, since he knows more about the land than Tyrion.
I didn't notice Brienne anywhere. Why isn't she guarding Sansa like a hawk, especially around Little Finger?
They didn't show The Hound. With as much as we saw Arya, I wish they would have shown him hanging out with the Brotherhood Without Banners. I think The Hound and Arya will meet up this season and pretty early in.
They didn't show Bronn. Not so big a deal, I just like him.
Where the heck was Bran? Pretty big player to not be shown on the board. What if all the clips we just witnessed in such fast succession were all visions of Brans, just like the show when he has his visions? I believe last we saw him, he was right at the Wall at the Weirwood. Bran seems to be the namesake of Bran the Builder, who we witnessed the Children of the Forest drive a piece of dragon glass into his heart, setting off these deadly chain of events. What if Bran is supposed to be the be all, end all, for all of this? Let's think of it this way, Bran the Builder was taken out by the Children of the Forest, Bran took them out. Bran the Builder put up the Wall, Bran is going to bring it crashing down. Bran the builder is legendary for building the Wall, Bran cannot build one, due to... you got it, climbing a wall, and falling down, paralyzing his legs(I know he was pushed but it was still a nasty fall). Everything Bran the Builder did, that we know of, the little Bran we know and love has done quite the opposite. What if Bran and the Knights King are one and the same, but in a Ying and Yang sort of way?
All I know is, after watching the trailer several times over the course of the day, it has me ready to get this season started! Overall, the trailer was great, and it really showed us a lot. It may have been HBOs way of saying "Ok, Ok shut up already!" And I just want to thank them for that! We will hopefully get another trailer before the season starts, and maybe a few more additional teasers, if we're lucky.
That's all I have for now. Thanks for reading! If you enjoyed, please subscribe, and share my post. Thanks again!!
XOXO
